I believe it is impossible to think of science and academia without an industry. It is quite critical to apply theoretical knowledge in real life. I have been developing solutions to industrial problems in academia or the private sector for a long time. I have been providing consulting services, developing new products or solutions, and teaching short courses with that mission.
